OUR KINGDOM PURSUITS
Learning - Deep Spiritual Formation
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Living - Thoughtful and Empowered Witness
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit Comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
Loving - Sacred Friendship and Community
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35
Jesus had an awesome message. His life and ministry was all about the message of the coming kingdom of heaven (or kingdom of God). In this new kingdom, everything will be made right and God will rule in love and peace. The good news (gospel) of Jesus is about more than just getting to people into heaven. It’s also about the reality of heaven arriving in our world today!
Jesus was different. His teaching had unique authority and his works had incredible power. This is because Jesus lived through the power of the Holy Spirit. As his followers, we’re invited and challenged to do the same. Ministry in kingdom-life is all about using God’s power and resources to meet the needs of the world.
Jesus had a mission. The message, ministry, and method of Jesus’ life all played into his mission: the restoration of all things. We’re partners in Jesus’ mission as we live kingdom-life proclaiming his message, doing his ministry, and practicing his method.
OUR KINGDOM BELIEFS (The Nicene Creed)
WE BELIEVE in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen and Amen.
